Peru President: Govt. keeps working on education

The Peruvian Government is working and defends the reforms implemented to improve the quality of education, Peruvian President Ollanta Humala affirmed today.

"The education is essential. It enables to leave poverty behind, to financially improve our families' situation. I am obsessed with improving education in the country […]," he highlighted. 

Mr. Humala reminded S/. 4.2 billion (about US$1.31 billion) have been allocated to the sector.
Likewise, he pointed out that the educational policy, implemented by his administration, is leading to progress of people in the rainforest and highland areas.

Peru's top official also emphasized that programs directed to poor communities, such as Beca 18, were possible thanks to the aforementioned social policy.

The Head of State participated in the inauguration ceremony for the remodeled Fernando Belaunde Terry Educational Center, in Quio population center.
