On the occasion of National Pisco Day, Peruvian President Pedro Pablo Kuczynski on Friday called on pisco producers to dedicate more efforts to promoting the emblematic spirit both at national and international levels.
"My objective is for
pisco to prosper and blossom," the Head of State said during a ceremony organized by the Production Ministry on the occasion.
The statesman assured he sees enormous initiative and entrepreneurship in
pisco production as an economist —523 producers and plenty of brands— but also fragmentation.
"We need more unity to improve [pisco] marketing," he stressed.
"Hooray for pisco, hooray for Peru!," he concluded.
Deputy SMEs Minister Juan Carlos Mathews and first Vice President Martin Vizcarra joined Mr. Kuczynski on the occasion.
As is known,
pisco is a Peruvian brandy type of drink made out of grapes.
