Peru’s President Ollanta Humala arrived at the Pisco city’s Air Force base on Thursday around 14:30 (local time) to participate in the 10th Summit of the Pacific Alliance currently underway in Paracas city (Peru’s Southern Ica region).
Mr. Humala is accompanied by his wife First Lady Nadine Heredia.
The Peruvian President is the second Head of State to land in the city for this high-level gathering. Last night, Mexican President Enrique Peña Nieto and his wife did the same.
During the afternoon, the Mexican Head of State will be honored with the Francisco Bolognesi Military Order in the Grade of Grand Cross and the Order of the Great Admiral Miguel Grau. The ceremony will take place at the Libertador Hotel.
On the other hand, the arrivals of Colombian President Juan Manuel Santos and Chilean Head of State Michelle Bachelet are expected.
The four Latin American leaders are due to participate as speakers in the presentation “Pacific Alliance: Future Vision” starting at 18:00 hours (23:00 GMT). The President of the Inter-American Development Bank, Luis Alberto Moreno, will serve as moderator.
Organizers indicated that Peruvian President Ollanta Humala will deliver a closing speech at the end of the Business Summit.
The Business Summit of the Pacific Alliance is made up of high-level businessmen of the four member countries and is aimed at promoting the mechanism at the regional and global level, provide suggestions to improve its development and boost joint actions towards third markets.
On Friday, July 3, main day of the Summit, presidents will sign the Paracas Declaration during the closing ceremony.
