The Asia-Pacific Economic Cooperation (APEC) Forum's Summit taking place this November in Lima is an opportunity to present Peru as a tourist, cultural and environmental destination, President Pedro Pablo Kuczynski highlighted today.

The Head of State reaffirmed his administration's goal to double Peru's receptive tourism from current 3.5 million to 7 million by 2021.

"It is an ambitious target, but if we measure it year by year, we will get there," he expressed.

Thus, the APEC Summit will contribute to "reaching said objective."

Remarks were made from the Government Palace during the launch of "Cumpliendo la promesa del turismo" (Fulfilling the tourism promise) campaign on the occasion of World Tourism Day.

Said campaign is aimed at spreading sector’s benefits in the Andean country. Thus, the activity served to inform citizens about the value of the economic development promoted by tourism in Peru.

Likewise, efforts made by tourism sector along with Foreign Affairs, Culture, Environment, Transport and Communications Ministries were mentioned.

Mr. Kuczynski was joined by First Lady Nancy Lange, as well as State Ministers and other authorities.
