Pope Francis' visit was a balm of faith, spirituality, and reflection to the Inca nation, the Head of the Papal Visit Organization Committee in Peru Alfonso Grados affirmed.

The official thanked the Catholic Church and President Pedro Pablo Kuczynski for the trust placed in him to lead the coordination efforts during the Supreme Pontiff's stay in the country.

It must be noted the organization of this milestone visit required seven months of work, which was carried out in coordination with political, civil, military, and ecclesiastical authorities of Lima, Puerto Maldonado, and Trujillo, the three cities the Vicar of Christ visited while in Peru.

"We are happy to have completed the task and to be able to say: Mr. President, mission accomplished […]," Grados expressed.

In this regard, the also former Labor Minister stressed the order, discipline, and warmth of the Peruvian population, which enabled more than three and a half million people to fill the streets, main squares, and masses during papal activities.

"United by hope we have been able to work together and highlight —with our presence— the great visit of Pope Francis, whom we love so much and who has lovingly shared his lessons with us," he concluded.
