Peru policemen get medals at powerlifting competition

Three Peruvian National Police members grabbed four gold medals at the South American Powerlifting Championships 2016 held on October 14-16 in Cordoba (Argentina).

National athletes Colonel Aldo Muñoz Ygal, Major Luis Zerpa Garcia and Non-commissioned Officer Andres Albornoz Tinoco displayed extraordinary performances in their corresponding categories. 

Muñoz Ygal ranked first in Masters (age 50-54, U110 kg). He also claimed gold on bench press, setting a South American record. 

Likewise, Zerpa grabbed gold medal in Masters (age 50-54, U90 kg), while Albornoz got gold in Masters (age 50-54, U83.5 kg). 

It must be noted Albornoz is currently Pan American and World Champion, who won such title at Global Powerlifting Alliance's World Championships 2015.

Powerlifting is a sports, which involves three tests of strength: squat, bench press and deadlift.
