Peru, Poland ink MoU on sports cooperation

Peruvian Sports Institute (IPD) and Poland's Ministry of Sport and Tourism have signed a Memorandum of Understanding (MoU) on sports cooperation.

The signing ceremony was held on January 10 at the Peruvian Embassy in Poland.

The agreement was signed by Peruvian Ambassador to Poland Alberto Salas Barahona —on behalf of IPD— while the Polish side was represented by Sport and Tourism Minister Witold Banka.

This deal is intended to strengthen cooperation between both countries in sports excellence and development, based on a reciprocity and common benefit spirit.

The areas of cooperation include sports science and technology, sports medicine, fight against doping in sports, sports sponsorship and leadership, sporting event organization, sports experts and directors training, athletes' protection, as well as women's conditions and treatment in sports.

According to a statement issued by Peru's Foreign Affairs Ministry, this MoU opens a new chapter in the Peru-Poland cooperation, this time in the sports field.
