Prime Minister Mercedes Araoz on Thursday affirmed Venezuelan President Nicolas Maduro will not even be able to enter Peruvian airspace, in response to President's recent statements over his unwelcome presence in the country.
As is known, Maduro said Thursday he will attend the
Summit of the Americas despite host Peru saying he is unwelcome.
"He cannot even enter Peruvian airspace. He cannot enter (Peru) because he is not welcome [...]," she expressed.
"He has to understand that we don't want to receive him in Peru," Araoz added.
Furthermore, she criticized Maduro for ending the dialogue between his government and the opposition, and for moving up presidential elections to April 22.
"He [Maduro] has broken all rules of the game [...]. And, to top it all, he decided to hold early elections in April," she told RPP local news station.
The decision of declaring Maduro an unwelcome person in Peru was supported by many democratic parties in the Andean country and by Peruvians themselves, who reject any authoritarian act, the official said.
