Peruvian Prime Minister Fernando Zavala along with Economy and Finance Minister Alfredo Thorne will travel to Davos (Switzerland), in order to attend the World Economic Forum Annual Meeting 2017 this week.

Authorized by the Executive Branch through Supreme Resolution, the trip was confirmed by the Cabinet Chief himself.

The top official's Davos agenda includes meetings with various investors interested in doing business in Peru.

"It is a race to get investors' attention, and I think the Economy Minister and I will do a good job," he told Canal N news station.

Prior to landing in Davos, Zavala will also visit the Organisation for Economic Cooperation and Development (OECD) headquarters in Paris, in order to formally propose Peru's accession to this major economic bloc.

“[OECD accession] is a long, 4-year process, but the idea is to get started with the first part of it,” he explained.
