Peru PM expresses solidarity to quake-hit Mexico

Peru's Second Vice-President and recently sworn-in Prime Minister Mercedes Araoz expressed solidarity with Mexico, which was hit by a strong 7.1 magnitude earthquake on Tuesday.

Via Twitter, the Head of the Presidency of the Council of Ministers expressed sympathy with the brother people of Mexico, adding both nations "are a single force in Latin America."


Said event has caused serious material damages and injured many citizens.

The powerful earthquake shook Mexico City today, causing panic among the megalopolis' 20 million inhabitants on the 32nd anniversary of a devastating 1985 quake, AFP reported.

The US Geological Survey put the quake's magnitude at 7.1 while Mexico's Seismological Institute said it measured 6.8 on its scale.
