Adventure sports such as kayak will be practiced at Paracas National Reserve soon, Peruvian State-run National Service of Natural Protected Areas (Sernanp) announced.
A consortium of tourism operators will offer domestic and national tourists the experience, while relying on the necessary safety measures.
According to Sernanp head Pedro Gamboa, "this will be possible thanks to the agreement reached with a tourism operator."
The covenant will allow the company to provide such service to athletes and other types of visitors seeking to carry out outdoor activities.
"The goal is for people to see Paracas National Reserve not only as a place where sand, sun and sea is to be found, but also a space for sports activities, which do not negatively impact the environment," he pointed out.
Diving and paragliding would also be practiced in the future, he projected.
