Peruvian enterprises would have closed deals worth US$11 million on the first day of Pacific Alliance's 4th Macro Business Roundtable, said Jose Quiñones, Deputy Director for International Promotion at Peru's Exports and Tourism Promotion Board (PromPeru).
Over 50% of agreed deals would be concretized in the medium-term (one and six months). The result was deemed as "gratifying" by Quiñones.
Peru's delegation was composed by 70 exporting and 40 importing enterprises.
60% of total national entrepreneurs comprised the food sector, whereas 33% belonged to the clothing industry.
The United States stood out as the major purchaser (60%) mainly interested in the textile sector.
"We have to invite more countries to foster Pacific Alliance trade. On this occasion, we [the bloc] invited the United States and Asian nations, and that must continue," he said.
Official results obtained at the 2016 Pacific Alliance's 4th Macro Business Roundtable will be announced on Friday.
The event saw the participation of 600 enterprises from Mexico, Colombia, Peru and Chile.
