Peru's Housing, Construction and Sanitation Minister Edmer Trujillo said more than 47,000 houses have been affected by heavy rains and floods resulting from Coastal El Niño weather phenomenon this year.
To that end, the Government has committed more than S/1.5 billion (US$463 million) to Techo Propio housing subsidy program, for their reconstruction.
The housing portfolio head assured all the affected families will be allotted government houses by mid-2019.
In this sense, different regulations have been introduced, he said, including the Family Housing Bonus (BFH) aimed at the construction of
permanent houses.
As is known, the Inca nation was at the mercy of "Coastal El Niño" phenomenon in the January-March period.
The weather event was characterized by heavy rains, landslides and floods, which destroyed infrastructure and crops, leaving many citizens homeless.
