Peru opens commercial offices in 15 countries

The Ministry of Foreign Trade and Tourism (Mincetur) has announced the opening of Peruvian Commercial Offices Abroad (OCEX for its Spanish acronym) in fifteen countries in Africa, Asia, Europe and Latin America.

New OCEXs were opened in Geneva (Switzerland), Hamburg (Germany), Rotterdam (Netherlands), London (United Kingdom), Lisbon (Portugal), Milan (Italy) and Moscow (Russia) in Europe, Mincetur said in a statement.

The ministry also opened commercial offices in Seoul (Republic of Korea), Jakarta (Indonesia) and Istanbul (Turkey) in Asia, as well as in Pretoria (South Africa), Accra (Ghana) and Rabat (Morocco) in Africa.

In Latin America, Peruvian commercial offices were opened in Mexico City (Mexico) and Caracas (Venezuela).

Through the OCEXs, Mincetur seeks to contribute to the sustainable growth of Peru by promoting its exports of goods and services, tourist attractions, business opportunities and investment-friendly environment.

The new commercial offices, run by Peru's Export and Tourism Promotion Board (PromPeru), add to the already existent in Tokyo (Japan), Taipei (Taiwan), Beijing and Shanghai (China) and Dubai (United Arab Emirates) in Asia, and those in Brussels (Belgium), Madrid (Spain) and Paris (France) in Europe.

Peru also has OCEXs in New York, Los Angeles, Miami and Washington DC in the United States and Toronto (Canada), in North America, and in Sao Paulo (Brazil), Santiago (Chile), La Paz (Bolivia), Quito (Ecuador), Bogota (Colombia) and Panama City (Panama) in Latin America.
