The value of Peru's non-traditional exports increased 0.8% in April 2017, the country's Central Reserve Bank (BCR) informed.

Growth was underpinned by greater foreign sales of farming and fishery products.

During the analyzed month, Peruvian farming exports had a good performance (+US$20 million; +7.1%), boosted by higher shipments of fresh avocados (+US$15 million) and food for prawns.

Likewise, fresh mango sales (+US$4 million) stood out in the fourth month of the year.

April also saw increased exports of canned giant squid (+US$3 million), frozen giant squid (+US$2 million) and cotton t-shirts (+US$1 million), among others.
