Peruvian President Pedro Pablo Kuczynski pledged to combat corruption in the country during his first presidential speech addressed to the nation.

“None of my government officials can be involved in the scouge of corruption acts […]. Be aware that I will not discriminate between them,” he said firmly.

Those committing corruption crimes, he continued, will be brought to justice, which needs "to be highly reformed."

To do so, Kuczynski proposes the establishment of a independent and autonomous body to fight it.

However, he urged society to get involved in this cause by reporting eventual cases.

“We all have to join forces to fight this scourge,” he stressed.
