Peru has appointed its new Permanent Representative to the Organization of American States (OAS) through a supreme resolution published today in El Peruano official gazette.
According the resolution, Ambassador Luis Juan Chuquihuara Chil will represent Peru to the Washington D.C.-based organization.
A ministerial resolution will set the date on which the diplomat will officially take up his duties.
Chuquihuara used to serve as Ambassador Extraordinary and Plenipotentiary to the Swiss Confederation.
He succeeds former Permanent Representative Juan Jimenez Mayor, who has held the position since December 2013 until January this year.
The document was signed by Peruvian President Ollanta Humala and Foreign Affairs Minister Ana Maria Sanchez de Rios.
