The Government of Peru has appointed Rafael Roncagliolo Orbegoso and Alberto Efraín Wilfredo Salas Barahona as Ambassadors Extraordinary and Plenipotentiary of Peru to Spain and Poland, respectively.

Credentials and full powers have been issued to the diplomats in accordance with two different resolutions published today in the official gazette El Peruano.

Both documents were inked by Peruvian President Ollanta Humala Tasso and the Minister of Foreign Affairs Gonzalo Gutierrez Reinel.

Two subsequent ministerial resolutions will set the date on which the new Ambassadors will officially take up their diplomatic duties.

The diplomats were appointed Ambassadors in accordance with the clause 12 of the article 118 of Peru’s Constitution, which established the power of the President of the Republic to appoint plenipotentiary ambassadors and ministers with the approval of the Cabinet and Congress.
