Peru mining and hydrocarbon sector up by 9.33%

Mining and hydrocarbon sector production increased by 9.33% in July, achieving the second highest rate so far this year, the Head of the National Institute of Statistics and Informatics (INEI) Anibal Sanchez affirmed.

He indicated the metal mining sub sector grew 16.56%, driven by greater mining of copper (32.77%), gold (0.68%), zinc (5.68%), silver (5.67%), molybdenum (9.10%) and lead (8.26%); while iron and tin production experienced a decline of 0.88% and 22.07%, respectively. 

Electricity Production 

During the analysis period, electricity output rose by 5.38%, marking 69 months of continuous growth. 

The companies contributing to this result include, among others, Electro Peru, Fenix Power, Egenor, Celepsa, Egasa, Kallpa Generacion and Statkraft Peru –previously named SN Power Peru.
