Peru's Economy and Finance Ministry (MEF) has successfully issued sovereign bonds and treasury bills on the local market, which confirms investors’ confidence towards the country's sovereign debt instruments.
MEF placed S/842.3 million (about US$241.2 million) in a regular auction for sovereign bonds maturing in 2026 and 2055, as well as VAC bonds due in 2018 and 2040.
The said auction saw a strong demand, which exceeded the bid by nearly 6 times.
This important demand reflects the interest and confidence of investors in owning short-, medium- and long-term tools in domestic and inflation-indexed currency.
