Peru: Lima High Performance School students granted int'l baccalaureate diploma

A total of 274 students from High Performance School (COAR) in Lima have been awarded International Baccalaureate diploma that opens the doors to renowned institutions around the globe.

According to Education Ministry (Minedu) spokespersons, they are students from graduate classes over the last five years. 81 graduates from the 2015 class received this recognition on April 30.

The ceremony took place at Mario Vargas Llosa Auditorium of the National Library, in the presence of Minedu and Lima-based COAR authorities.

The first graduate class to obtain the International Baccalaureate award was that of 2012, with 33 diplomas in total. Afterwards, diplomas were granted to 69 students in the 2013 class and 91 in the 2014 one.

Marilu Martens, Director General of Specialized Educational Services at Minedu, made a motion to continue supporting this educational initiative, or High Performance Schools (COAR).

High-quality education is a long-term investment in the country’s development.

Lima-based COAR Director General Daniel Henriquez and Academic Director Jose Nolasco noted Colegio Mayor’s experience in the International Baccalaureate program and the excellent results of the educational model.
