Peru joins cooking world cup in Mexico

Peru is taking part in the qualifying round of Bocuse d'Or, the world's most prestigious cooking championship, taking place at Sirha Fair in Mexico city.

Peruvian young chefs Palmiro Ocampo and Anthony Castro compete against other representatives from other nine countries trying to obtain a ticket for the Grande Finale in Lyon 2017.

The Peruvian team has to prepare two superb dishes within 5 hours 30 minutes.

One of them is features either fish or octopus or both and tells the story of how two diverse cultures fall in love with each other between Japan and the cost of Peru to become one.

The other one is Yacumama, the Amazon biodiversity's guard.

"We believe we must share and spread Amazon culture and biodiversity, without forgetting we have preserve it, too," participants state.
