Peru: Israel interested in improving Northern Peru’s agricultural potential

Israeli Ambassador to Peru Ehud Eitam along with a group of Middle Eastern entrepreneurs paid a visit to Northern Piura region with the aim of assessing new bilateral cooperation projects.

He seemed to be willing to process technical support for water management, which will allow this region to expand and enhance its agricultural frontier.

The entrepreneurial delegation represents organizations related to technical irrigation, agriculture, mapping, security system and telecommunications sectors.

Likewise, the diplomat announced Israeli businessmen have already started investing in Piura region's agricultural field.

Over a one-year period investments in different sectors totaled US$1.5 billion.

Moreover, top official to Lima mentioned a Free Trade Agreement (FTA) uniting both nations is expected to be consolidated in 2016.

While in Piura, the Israeli Ambassador's agenda included meetings with authorities, visits to rural communities, reservoirs and water treatment plants.
