Peru is currently being hit by natural disasters as result of heavy rains, overflowing rivers and floods affecting citizens mainly in the northern and central areas of the country.

The government implements measures to tackle the impacts of rains in regions: Tumbes, Piura, Lambayeque, La Libertad, Ancash and the capital city of Lima.

On Friday, President Pedro Pablo Kuczynski affirmed the government will allocate a S/2.5 billion (about US$768,994,155) fund to reconstruct damaged infrastructure.

Over 8,000 police members are deployed in Lima to attend emergencies, the Interior Ministry confirmed.
