Peru has a mining project portfolio close to US$ 64 billion, and related to copper, gold and silver, affirmed Minister of Energy and Minis, Rosa Maria Ortiz.
The Minister highlighted the Peruvian growth perspective in exploration and mining production is “relevant,” especially in copper, since the projections to 2016 put Peru in the second position concerning “copper’s world production.”

In this sense, investment in mining “has not stopped” in the Peruvian nation, she assured.

“The sector has worked under a new modality in recent years, adding concepts such as the early intervention, decentralized assistance of conflict, the multisectorial articulated intervention and the promotion of transparency in the extractive activities,” she told.

In this way, under new Ministry of Energy and Mines’ policies, the projects, that have been boosted, are “under execution” in the current year, she reminded.
