El Ministerio de Vivienda, Construcción y Saneamiento (MVCS) publicó hoy el reglamento del Fondo de Inversión Agua Segura (FIAS), instancia que tiene por objeto contribuir al cierre de brechas de cobertura de agua, alcantarillado y tratamiento de aguas residuales a nivel nacional mediante el financiamiento de programas y proyectos en dicha materia.
Peru's Housing, Construction and Sanitation Ministry (MVCS) will provide S/20,972,506 (about US$6.44 million) to finance public investment projects in the water and sanitation sectors.
According to a ministerial resolution, published in the official gazette El Peruano, the money will be added to a
public investment fund for
water, sanitation and health projects.
The transfer will be covered through the National Urban Sanitation Program budget for this year.
The financial resources provided shall not be used for purposes other than those originally intended.
The measure is framed under Urgency Decree No. 0042017 that dictates actions to revive economic growth and to intervene in the case of rains and associated hazards.
