Peru Govt. to invest over US$1.4 bn. in Puno region

Peru’s President Ollanta Humala announced the government invests over S/.4.5 billion (about US$1.43 billion) in the Puno region with the intention of boosting major development projects to benefit the region’s residents.

“We are paying a new visit, since the last time we were in Ayaviri [town] holding the Decentralized Cabinet Meeting in the years 2012 and 2013. On that occasion we offered […]  S/.4.5 billion (about US$1.42 billion) [to carry out projects],” the President pointed out.

On Monday, President Ollanta Humala presides over the 21st Decentralized Meeting of the Council of Ministers in Puno region, aimed at analyzing the main needs of area citizens.

State Ministers, Deputy Ministers and Puno's authorities attend this meeting. During the beginning Cabinet members addressed the area residents from a stage. 

Afterwards, the President will inaugurate concluded works in the region's districts.
