Peru: Gas massification to benefit 100,000 Southern-central families

Over the first eight years, the national natural gas massification project will provide low-priced energy to nearly 100,000 families residing in seven regions, Peru's Private Investment Promotion Agency (ProInversion) Executive Director Carlos Herrera.

A total of 13 Peruvian cities will receive compressed natural gas (CNG) services through virtual onshore pipelines. 

Puno, Juliaca, Cusco, Quillabamba, Huancayo, Jauja, Huancavelica, Ayacucho, Huanta, Andahuaylas, Abancay, Pucallpa and Padre Abad cities will benefit the most.

Such project entails an investment worth approximately US$350 million to be operated under a 32-year concession. 

Remarks were made during his presentation before Congress' Budget Committee.
