Peru, France Presidents meet in Paris

Peruvian President Pedro Pablo Kuczynski on Thursday meets with French counterpart Emmanuel Macron, within the framework of the Andean Head of State's official visit to France and Spain.

Peru's top official was welcomed with corresponding honors upon arrival at Elysee Palace.

Mr. Kuczynski thus becomes the first Latin American leader to meet with his recently-elected counterpart. 

The President's entourage is composed of Ministers Ricardo Luna (Foreign Affairs), Alfredo Thorne (Economy and Finance) and Ambassador to France Alvaro de Soto, among other government officials.

As is known, the Peruvian delegation arrived in Paris last Wednesday following a 13-hour flight. 

During the visits, the Head of State will seek to strengthen bilateral and cooperation ties with both European nations, as well as to promote infrastructure investments within the framework of Peru's post-disaster reconstruction process

OECD

The 78-year-old economist has also been invited to OECD's 2017 International Economic Forum on Latin America and the Caribbean, where he will give the opening session's keynote speech.

The event will take place at Pierre Mendes France Conference Center in Paris on Friday, June 9.  

The forum will also see the presence of French Finance Minister Bruno Le Maire, OECD Secretary-General Angel Gurria and Inter-American Development Bank (IDB) President Alfredo Moreno.

Mr. Kuczynski will then hold audiences with the said OECD and IDB heads, as well as with Guatemala's President Jimmy Morales.
 
The France agenda also includes a work meeting with Movement of French Enterprises (Medef) members at Cercle de I'Union Interalliee.
