Former Peruvian Presidents Ollanta Humala, Alan Garcia and Alejandro Toledo will be summoned to Congress in February as part of Odebrecht graft investigations.
The former Heads of State are required to appear before the Parliament committee that will investigate into the Brazilian construction giant's corruption scandal.
The appointment for next month was confirmed by commission members, legislators Jorge Castro (Frente Amplio) and Karina Beteta (Fuerza Popular).
As is known, the family-owned conglomerate admitted to having distributed US$29 million in bribes among Peruvian officials in 2005-2014 to secure public contracts. Said period spans over the presidencies of Alejandro Toledo (2001-2006), Alan Garcia (2006-2011) and Ollanta Humala (2011-2016).
Lawmaker Beteta highlighted all commission sessions should be public so citizens will have access to authorities' statements.
Peru's Attorney General Pablo Sanchez and Financial Investigation Unit (UIF) Head Sergio Espinoza will join the commission this Wednesday.
Authorities summoned also include Lima Mayor Luis Castañeda Lossio and former Mayor Susana Villaran.
