Mining is a cyclical activity and its "boom" is not over at the global level, former Energy and Mines Minister Jorge Merino affirmed.
In this sense, private investments in the sector must continue to be promoted, the former government official added.
"It is important to continue promoting investments. The mining 'boom' is not over […]," he expressed.
"For instance, if compared to Chile our country is very competitive when it comes to costs. This puts us [Peru] on the vanguard at the international level […]," Merino told.
It must be noted the former Minister participated at Perumin-32nd Mining Convention last week.
