In response to the international market volatility, Peru’s Foreign Trade and Tourism Ministry –along with the entrepreneurial sector- intensified the export promotion with the aim of diversifying the supply and reaching new markets, the head of the portfolio Magali Silva affirmed.

“By June 2015, promotional activities have increased by 13% compared to the similar period in 2014. It meant a participation of 1,463 exporting enterprises […],” Silva indicated.

Thus, the said companies are expected to close deals worth US$943 million.

In this sense, the head of the portfolio highlighted the exporters’ willingness to continue undertaking efforts to achieve development in the sector, which can be made possible by participating in the Mincetur-organized promotional activities.

In Peru Service Summit 2015, our business service exporters reached deal commitments worth US$85 million, a 21% increase compared to the previous year's edition, she reminded.

The Minister went on to add Latin America's demand for the aforementioned services accounted for 70% of the total, followed by those of North America (18%) and Europe (12%).

Delegations from Brazil and Chile consolidated most of the agreements; 24% and 14%, respectively. Among highly-demanded sectors were the Software and BPO-Call Center, which accounted for 75% of the negotiations conducted during the roundtable.
