The Pacific Alliance (PA) constitutes an integration mechanism that is actually working, as it can be witnessed in the steady growth of the bloc's observer states, Peruvian Foreign Affairs Minister Ricardo Luna affirmed on Thursday.
The official also noted the PA is a well-respected mechanism, and there is a high expectation towards the success to be reached at this
meeting.
"It is interesting the number of businesspeople gathered here, not only those coming from Pacific Alliance's member countries, but also from everywhere […]," Luna highlighted.
"[…] which proves this is an integration mechanism that is actually working," he added.
According to the Peruvian official, this regional bloc sets out terms and standards that are respected in several places.
"At the first meeting, there were merely two
observer states; however, there are currently 52 […]. This reflects the interest drawn from everywhere thanks to this successful mechanism," the official affirmed.
Pacific Alliance
The Pacific Alliance is a deep integration process uniting Chile, Colombia, Mexico and Peru.
The bloc fosters the free circulation of people, goods and services across its territories.
It also aims to harness the opportunities provided by economic and financial integration, thus guaranteeing solid and inclusive growth.
