Peruvian President Pedro Pablo Kuczynski and his ministerial delegation verified the benefits of "warm homes," houses set up to reduce High-Andean populations' vulnerability to frost.

Equipped as part of Mi Abrigo (My Warm Shelter) project, houses are located in Qqescamayo population center, in Pichihua district of Espinar province, Cusco region.

Qqescamayo inhabitants already enjoy their homes which, among other things, retain heat during the day and raise indoor temperature.

The sealed roof keeps the heat in during the evening. Doors and windows are also sealed.

Furthermore, the house has an improved chimney stove that prevents smoke from remaining inside the property.
