Peru's Economy and Finance Ministry (MEF) transferred S/20 million (about US$6.06 million) to cover differential costs resulting from the upcoming presidential run-off election activities.
According to a Supreme Decree published in El Peruano official gazette, resources are allocated to finance expenditures which, given its nature, were not included in the National Office of Electoral Processes (ONPE) 2016 budget.
June 5th run-off elections are comprised in the general electoral process.
On that day, Peruvians will elect either former First Lady and Congresswoman Keiko Fujimori or ex-World Bank Officer and Finance Minister Pedro Pablo Kuczynski to the highest political office in the country.
