Compared to 2015, the Executive Power-submitted Public Sector Bill for 2016 establishes a 6% increase in resources aimed at the health sector, Finance Minister Alonso Segura affirmed.

The 2016 Institutional Opening Budget (PIA) for the sector establishes interventions on main programs, such as those related to articulated nutrition, maternal-newborn health and non-communicable disease prevention, among others.
These programs will receive an extra 6% allocation compared to 2015, the head of the Minister pointed out.

Bigger budget

In this sense, the budget set for 2016 exceeds by 73% that of 2011, he noted.

Remarks were made during his presentation before parliamentarians at the Congress of the Republic, where he and Prime Minister Pedro Cateriano presented the aforementioned bill.
