Peru eyes FTA talks with India next year

Peru's Foreign Trade and Tourism Minister, Magali Silva will visit India aimed at deepening talks on a Free Trade Agreement (FTA) to further boost bilateral economic ties between the two countries.
The Peruvian top government official recently held a brief meeting with her Indian counterpart, Anand Sharma, on the sidelines of the Ninth World Trade Organization (WTO) Ministerial Conference in Bali, Indonesia.

"At the meeting, the Indian Commerce Minister invited us to visit his country in the last week of January to discuss the negotiations for an FTA," Silva said from Bali.

Likewise, Silva also held a one-on-one talk with his Russian counterpart on kicking off free trade deal's negotiations, while El Salvador called for resuming talks that stalled months ago.

She stated the Andean Nation 17 FTA in force with the world's major markets and, Mincetur continues working on the Trans-Pacific Partnership (TPP) and the Pacific Alliance negotiations.

The Ollanta Humala's adminstration expects to close this year with a total of 20 Free Trade Agreement signed.
