Peru exports to EU reach US$5.322 bn in Jan-Oct 2017

The total value of Peruvian exports to the European Union (EU) expanded 17.83% between January and October 2017, the South American country's Exports and Tourism Promotion Board (PromPeru) reported.

Thus, Peru's sales to EU countries went from US$4.516 billion (Jan-Oct 2016) to US$5.322 billion (Jan-Oct 2017).

Main exports destinations for Peruvian products included Spain, the Netherlands, Germany, the United Kingdom, Italy, Bulgaria, and Poland.

Spain and the Netherlands

According to PromPeru, shipments to Spain amounted to US$1.500 billion in the first 10 months of 2017, a 58.39% increase from the same period in 2016 (US$947.289 million).

Likewise, sales to the Netherlands experienced a 6.05% rise, going from US$816.101 million to US$865.473 million.

Germany and United Kingdom

Peruvian shipments to Germany expanded 11.08% by climbing from US$699.460 million (2016) to US$776.930 million (2017).

In addition, Inca exports to the United Kingdom totaled US$556.809 million between January and October, up by 2.34% over the same period the previous year (US$544.057 million).

Italy, Bulgaria, and Poland 

In the analyzed term, Peru's sales to Italy rose 26.47% from US$370.252 million to US$468.268 million.

Furthermore, exports to Bulgaria reached US$239.235 million, a 58.28% expansion from the similar period in 2016 (US$151.149 million).

Lastly, shipments to Poland registered the highest growth rate by totaling US$55.598 million in the analyzed period, a 467.57% increase compared to the same term the previous year (US$9.796 million).
