Peruvian President Ollanta Humala urged 188 countries to “make concrete steps” in the "Green Climate Fund" increase, which is aimed at facing the climate change.
"The other important matter is to support France in all the efforts and actions it has been undertaking for the upcoming Climate Change International Conference", he added.
The Peruvian leader encouraged the countries to submit their national contributions for the pollutant gases reduction and not to wait until the last moment.
"Nowadays, mankind has the opportunity to establish a stronger and more powerful alliance that has never been made in the planet's history; that is the battle to preserve our world," he underlined.
Optimism for COP21
Humala expressed his optimism about making concrete progress and commitments to fight against climate change at the upcoming COP21.
The industrialized world is witnessing the economic effects of global warming, as well as the negotiations undertaken at bilateral meetings as the one held by China's President Xi Jinping and US President Barack Obama.
Similarly, submitting national commitments on time will lead to reducing the emissions in more than 80 countries, which account for 70% of the greenhouse gas production, he indicated.
"All these actions demonstrate that we do have this opportunity. The developing as well as developed countries are aware that if we don't stop this problem, it could become irreversible soon," the President said.
Moreover, industrialized countries are providing their pledge to support developing countries through clean and sustainable technologies.
The Head of State noted that countries -which regions are comprised in the Amazon forest- face one of the main problems; that is the deforestation and illegal logging.
However, developed along with emerging countries have already established cooperation programs to recover the green areas.
"These are some of the measures that may help us to achieve the global alliance and ensure the effective progress [...]", he stated.
