Peru's economy would strongly accelerate in the last quarter of 2015 to grow between 3.5% and 4.0%, boosted essentially by primary sectors as well as a partial subnational public investment recovery, Finance and Economy Minister Alonso Segura projected on Thursday.
"Peruvian economy has entered a gradual recovery phase," the Minister affirmed at the Congress Plenary session.
"For the last quarter, we expect expansion to stand above 3.5%, maybe 4%," Segura estimated.
The government official went on to add growth will benefit from mining activity.
GDP expanded by close to 1% in the last three-month-period of 2014, he reminded.
Remarks were during his presentation at the Congress Plenary session to support the 2016 Public Sector Budget proposal amounting to S/.138.4 billion (about US$41.34 billion).
The corresponding budget discussion began on Thursday afternoon. The debate session kicked off on Thursday morning.
