An exhibition featuring pre-Columbian art, including artifacts, ceramics and jelwery, from Peru's indigenous cultures is on display until October 30 at the Galeri Seni University Malaya, Kuala Lumpur, Malaysia.
Thanks to the efforts of the Embassy of Peru and the Peruvian Ambassador to Malaysia himself, Marco V. Balarezo, photo exhibition on Peru has made it to our shores. The visitor will see at the exhibition stunning images of the most important archaeological pieces in the Andean country.

With these photographs, the Embassy of Peru, the “Larco Museum” and the University of Malaya have organised an interesting exhibition called “A Journey to the Ancient Culture of Peru”, which contains a powerful message from the past, that yet has great relevance on today’s world.

They are sourced from the vast and diverse collection of the Museo Larco in Lima. Founded in 1926, the museum showcases remarkable chronological galleries providing an excellent overview on 3000 years of development of Peruvian pre-Columbian history.

Since arriving in Malaysia in mid-2012, Ambassador Balarezo has been making efforts to promote all areas of bilateral relations between Peru and Malaysia, thestar.com.my reported.

He has put special emphasis on people-to-people links, based on the conviction that greater knowledge and understanding between people is the best way to solidify a relationship that aspires to be mutually beneficial and of long term.

Peru is a country full of heritage and culture and not all of us have the good luck to be able to visit it, but one never knows. So for those who have been there and miss it, and for those would like to go, the photo exhibition in town of the archaeological wonders of Peru might just be the perfect sampler for that.
