Peru's Culture Minister, Diana Alvarez-Calderón Gallo, awarding the winners of the 2013 National Culture Award

The winners of the three categories of the National Culture Awards, Peru's highest cultural recognition, received their respective prizes and merit diplomas at an event held at the Grand National Theater.
The prizes were handover by the country's Culture Minister, Diana Alvarez-Calderon Gallo; alongside the Chairman of Petroleos del Peru (PetroPeru), Hector Reyes Cruz.

The National Culture Awards recognize Peru's most talented and inspirational individuals and groups for their good cultural practices, creativity and career. 

Thus, Edgardo Rivera Martínez went on stage to receive the award in the Creativity category for their significant contribution to the Peruvian literature through major works such as "País de Jauja" and "Angel de Ocongate".

Meanwhile, Rodolfo Hinojosa, who is one of the most important Latin American poets of the 1960's, won it in the Career category. 

The Contisuyo Association, a cultural center based in Peru's Moquegua region, where research, conservation and promotion of the archaeological and cultural heritage are performed, received the award in the Good Cultural Practices Category.
