Peru's Defense Minister Jorge Nieto made a call for calm and tranquility to reign among Piura region citizens following natural disasters unleashed in this northern area.
As is known, the region was lashed by the overflowing of Piura River last Monday.
"Calm, tranquility. We know it is a difficult situation and we understand your feelings [...], but we will reach out to citizens. We are working on it," he stated.
In this sense, the cabinet member recalled the region's priority emergencies had been tackled.
Likewise, the official affirmed the government will continue working in a planned manner.
Nieto on Tuesday traveled to Piura with the purpose of assessing the state of affairs and delivering humanitarian aid to victims.
