Peru’s Foreign Trade and Tourism Minister, Magali Silva, said the motives, which drove Peru to host the 2016 Dakar Rally have been very "advantageous" and, in consequence, will favor tourism and the country's image across the world.
"Dakar is coming back to Peru. This will enable to have benefits," Silva told reporters.
On the next Dakar Rally edition, our country "will be more exposed" to the media, because the race is to start in Lima, the Minister indicated.
Its world impact will be "three times greater," concerning the number of spectators watching the event on an international level. Thus, it will lead to "welcome more visitors."
The revenues are going to be higher and "sensed” in the tourism industry, she estimated.
Film
A film will also be produced throughout the race.
According to the Head of the Ministry, this movie will allow to exhibit the country’s tourist potential abroad, since it is to be broadcasted in Europe. The film’s rights will be entirely granted to Peru.
Cultural Heritage
"The route design will allow us to prevent our cultural heritage from being damaged because the organization will let us work with the Ministry of Culture," she expressed.
In this sense, the Minister assured the cultural heritage will be protected during the mega event.
