Domestic and foreign travelers, who arrive in the city of Cusco on Sunday 27, will be welcomed by artists performing traditional dances and giving away gifts to celebrate World Tourism Day, Cusco Regional Directorate of Foreign Trade and Tourism (Dircetur) announced.

"At the airport, dancers are going to perform choreographies to make visitors dance. The objective is to make them have a good time," Cusco’s Dircetur Head Carlos Landauro expressed.

He went on to add handicrafts will be given away to visitors, as has been the case over previous years.

Teniente Alejandro Velasco Astete Airport and bus terminal (located in Santiago district), as well as access to Machu Picchu and Ollantaytambo Archaeological Parks will become stages for holding celebrations organized by the State-run entity.

"A similar event will be witnessed at Ollantaytambo parks, located in the Sacred Village of the Incas and Machu Picchu [Sanctuary], the country’s top tourist destination. Cusco registers over 3,000 visitors every day," Landauro emphasized.
