Peru's Culture Minister Salvador del Solar distributed over 90,000 warming kits to High-Andean Puno region residents currently affected by frosts.
Furthermore, the minister affirmed 49 tons of animal feed, over 400
warm houses, 600 enhanced cooking stoves and 20 livestock shelters have been delivered to the region.
In this context, he noted 13 Puno residents have died from respiratory disease during the 2017 cold and frost season. Thus, locals were vaccinated to prevent them from getting sick.
On the other hand, Del Solar reaffirmed the Kuczynski administration's commitment to meeting citizens' needs by providing them with drinking water services.
In this sense, he stressed efforts undertaken to decontaminate
Lake Titicaca.

The plan
is geared towards preventing, as well as mitigating fatalities and damage caused by frost events among highland populations.
The S/100-million (about US$30.84 million) plan also includes actions to deliver: food, housing, productive development, health, education, transport and electrification services to vulnerable populations across 16 regions.
This way, the government seeks to avert major damage and casualties, like the ones caused by natural disasters.
As is known, the Inca nation was at the mercy of "Coastal El Niño" phenomenon in the January-March period.
