Peru will continue the legal process to recover ancient Peruvian artifacts, which were sold this weekend at Sotheby's auction house, Peru's Minster of Culture Luis Peirano said.
Peirano told Andina news agency that "Peru has an active work on this topic. On several occasions, the sales were stopped, but not this time."
"The process will be conducted according to the laws of the county in which the pieces are located," he said.
The auction of the ancient artifacts, which includes several works that belonged to the Chimu, Mochica, Inca, Nazca, and Chavin cultures, took place in Paris, on Friday 22 and Saturday 23.
