Congress agreed to grant President Pedro Pablo Kuczynski’s administration legislative powers to rule by decree for 90 days on economy and formalization, public safety, fight against corruption, water and sanitation, as well as Petroperu restructuring.

Previously requested by the Executive Power, authorization was obtained at Thursday's plenary session.

However, lawmakers have reduced the period of time suggested by the Executive from 120 days to 90.

As is known, the Kuczynski administration took office on July 28.

Such powers are required to implement measures needed for progress.
