Congress on Thursday morning paid tribute to national athletes, who represented Peru at Rio 2016 Olympics.
Amid round of applause, sportspeople were welcomed at Congress facilities by Chairwoman Luz Salgado.
Athletes were joined by a parliament delegation composed of Paloma Noceda and Moises Guia Pianto, among others.
Later, youngsters entered the session room along with corresponding coaches, federations chairmen and Peruvian Sports Institute representatives.
At the site, they were granted official diplomas.
The presence of runners Gladys Tejeda and Raul Pacheco stood out.
Regretfully, Peru did not claim any medals at Rio 2016.
