Trans-Pacific Partnership (TPP) Agreement is a new economic space that opens its doors to Peru and will mainly benefit agro-industries, as well as small and medium-sized enterprises (SMEs), expressed Martin Perez chairman of the National Confederation of Private Business Institutions (Confiep).
"Without any doubt, TPP is essential for the country, since we are immersed in a trade openness process, which has allowed Peruvians to access better-quality products and services at affordable prices," he indicated.
Challenges for candidates
According to the Confiep officer, Peruvian presidential candidates should assume several challenges such as formal job creation and granting dynamism to greater public and private investments.
200,000 jobs should be generated every year, so university and high-school graduates find jobs in empowerable sectors, as are industry and trade among others.
Informal economy should be reduced from 60% to 40%, so more Peruvians will pay taxes, he added.
